I'm starting to hit that point, as I usually do with all my blogs, where I stop blogging. I'm trying really hard not to stop, but it just always happens! I'm not sure why, though... So I'm going to power through it! Especially since people actually read this one. Shout out to my fans! Haha!!
I can't really remember what I did Monday... And Tuesday I had design! I'm working on my logo still. I realize how much I suck at Illustrator, but thankfully my professor is helping me out a bit. I'm currently designing a font, yeah that's right! I'm actually pretty impressed that I've been able to do as much as I have so far in this class. I was so lost the first day! So it's going well =)
This morning I woke up late because I forgot to set my alarm... fail... But! I finally got to meet a few people from my buddy network and we had yummy cake! Seriously, it was probably some of the best cake I've ever had in my life. Including my own and you know how I love to toot my own horn about my baking skills, haha.
I ended up watching some of the cycle race today and it was kind of excited... When someone actually passed... Haha I don't really get the point of standing around and watching people fly by on a bike, but people were pretty into it! I got some pictures of some of the guys. The bikes are actually really cool looking. I'll be happy when it's over though. It's so hard to bike now since people basically decided they're going to walk in the bike lane or in the middle of the road. Typical pedestrians.
We got more info on our long study tour through Germany and Holland (aka the Netherlands). I can't really begin to explain how EXCITED I am to go here! But what I think is strange is that it seems like most of the "architecture" kids don't actually know much about where we're going... Maybe it's just weird because there's actually not a lot of 5-year people and most of them haven't really studied it at all before. I'm actually glad in that sense that I didn't take a design. I feel like it wouldn't be very challenging and I'd get nothing out of it... but anywho... Here's the list of the places we'll be going and you'll understand my excitement if anyone from PhilaU is reading the list, haha:
- Borneo Housing (housing units along the canal)
- Schroder House (YESSSSSSSSSSSS)
- Utrecht University
- Educatorium (REM!!!!!!!!!!!)
- Ruhr Museum (OMA)
- Red Dot Museum (Norman Foster & industrial design = awesome)
- Kolumba Museum (Peter Zumthor)
- Kolner Dom (an amazing cathedral)
- Hamburg Hafen City (more from REM)
- Unilever Building (Behnisch)
Amazing!
I was going to end this by ranting about facebook, but honestly it's not worth it! Life is too good to worry about it =)
