Wow... I have a lot to catch up on... So back track to Friday!!!

I had to get up SUPER early to go on my short study tour through Western Denmark. It was about a two hour ride to our first stop, the Trelleborg Museum. It was an old viking fortification! Awesome! This was probably my favorite stop. So the way they built their forts was in a circle with four openings reinforced with stone. Basically the "walls" were large mounds. Below were two streets that ran perpendicular to each other through the circle. In each quadrant, there were four buildings in a square arrangement. It was very interesting! Vikings are fascinating to me.
Later we went to a church in Orbaek Kirke. It was quite lovely, a white church with red tiles. The fresco's in the church are original from the 1400's! It was really interesting to see. Finally we went to Faaborg and went to a really interesting art museum there. I did some awesome sketches of perspectives and corridors. We stayed in a hostel right around the corner from there and had dinner near the harbor.

I was so exhausted from the first day, but we had to get up early again and head out to our next destination. We went to Kolding to the Koldinghus Castle. I LOVE castles, I can't even explain it. They are so interesting and have so much history, it's just overwhelming. This castle was interesting because of the interior structure that was created for the museum aspect. None of the structure of floors, etc. interrupt the existing castle. It's so beautiful. Then we went into town to the Nicolai cafe. We had some great food then went to see a modern daycare. It was so fun! Next we went to the Trapholt Museum. It was basically a furniture museum so we got to see some really great chair designs, especially by Arne Jacobsen. I really like the landscape of the building as well, though. Finally, we went to Ravnsbjerg Kirke, a more modern church. It was really beautiful. The light was amazing. I was so sick of sketching by then though. We stayed in a hostel outside of Aarhus and got dinner in town. We had Vietnamese which was the first time I had eaten it. It was okay, haha, but you have to try new things, right?

Last day of the tour! I felt like doing absolutely nothing. I was so exhausted, but I kept on. We visited Aarhus Universitet and did some serial sketches. Then we went to the ArHOS Museum which I REALLY enjoyed! It was so awesome and the installations on light/color were really amazing. The rainbow on top of the building was SOOOOOOOOOOO amazing. It was a great experience. (Check my photos on Picasa to see what the rainbow is.. It's hard to explain, http://picasaweb.google.com/108641248798542442070) Finally we had a tour of the city hall building designed by Arne Jacobsen. I thought the building was really ugly, haha. But it was fun to go up into the bell tower and get great views of the city. It was a good way to end the tour.

So here we are today! I was super tiered and ended up going back to sleep after my family left for work in the morning. Once I woke up I rode my bike into the city to get some important things done AKA apply for my CPR card (kind of like a social security card). I'll be an official Dane in 3 days! Wuhoo! I tried to print my project for design but could not find a damn printer. So I have to do that tomorrow before design, and you should know I HATE doing things last minute. Actually, I DON'T do things last minute. It's very stressful.
So I also stopped at Tiger (this awesome store that's a classier version of a dollar store) and bought some water colors, a new sketchbook since I'm already half way through one, and a soda. I was just craving a soda, haha. Chester is definitely coming to visit me this weekend, so I have to go back and get some things to give him a warm Danish welcome =)
Finally, I went to my SAC meeting and we planned some events for the semester! I love being on committee's. I'm pretty sure I've said that like 8 times already, haha. But really, I do love it.
On my way home on the bus in the rain I kind of was in an artsy weird mood. I listened to the Beatles and thought about how lovely the rain was in the city, haha. I literally was smiling while walking to my apartment in the rain, thoroughly enjoying it. I'm not sure why I liked it so much because it's cold and windy and rainy, but nonetheless, it was a pleasant moment.
