Last night I went out for a bit with Joanne and Mike! It's amazing to see how different the city is at night compared to during the day. Streets that are empty during the day are FLOODED with people, and visa-versa. It's so cool! Also, you can drink in public. So we stopped at a kiosk and bought something then walked around. I had cider, which was pretty delicious! It tasted a bit like red bull, though.
I was a mess this morning when I got up because I was so tiered from being out, haha. I'm such an old lady. Anyways, this morning I went to Kronborg Castle!!! It's the castle that the Danish prince lived in from Shakespeare's Hamlet. It was so gorgeous. Unfortuantely over time most of the art and furniture, etc. was taken out by Sweden and such since Denmark was attacked by them. The castle was infiltrated by the military at one point so a bit of it was changed. Also there was a fire which destroyed most of it. But still! It's beautiful! Parts of it were still from the 16th century and I even got to see some of the original tapestries. It all just amazes me. It's one thing to learn about it, but to actually see it is indescribable!!!
We ended the tour by going through the dungeon. First let me explain that I don't like anything to do with death. Graveyards, torture chambers, skeletons, mummies, etc. HATE it. It makes me feel so uncomfortable and nauseous. So usually I skip out on these parts. But, if you look at it this way... the dungeon in a castle is like its foundations so I had to see it! Oh. My. Gosh. First of all, it was pitch black. There were candles by the arrow signs, that's it. It was cobble stone, cold, damp, etc. Yuck. We all crammed into a room that was introduced as the torture chamber, off to a great start. They showed us the hooks they used to hang people as torture. Then she showed us this tiny corner that they used to have people stand near with a gate in front of them. Everyday they would push them farther and farther back into this small nook to torture them. Then we wandered through the dungeon for about 5 minutes. I got so sick from it because it was dark and I couldn't tell where we were going and people kept flashing their cameras so it was making me have serious vertigo.

But anyways... It ended up being a really amazing experience! Now I'm exhausted and I have to do homework. The good news is, I only have class on Tuesday this coming week =) On Wednesday I'm going to the Louisiana Museum (which I studied heavily for one of my design projects!!), Tuesday I have design but we're going to see a super secret poster collection, and then I go on a short study tour on Friday! Awesomeness!
Tomorrow morning/afternoon I'm going shopping with my new friend Lizzy at the mall/ "the fish market" so that should be fun. Helle, Christian, and Jacob will be coming home in the afternoon. So, that's about it!
Lesson....... Enjoy the experience. You don't always need to take pictures. The feelings and emotions you get by just being is way more special than any picture you can ever take.
PS- I forgot to mention why this post is called what it is. I'm pretty sure my dream would be to get married in a castle, haha. B
