This morning I was awaken by flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder! Storms here are much different than home. I'm pretty sure there were atleast 15 bolts of lightning in one minute which meant EXTREMELY loud thunder, and lots of it! The sky was very intriguing though... It was a yellow/orange color! Funny enough, the sun came right out after the storm!
Obviously it was going to be a rainy day. We all had breakfast this morning. Afterwards, Jacob and Christian went for a run. Helle and I biked to Fields (the mall) to do some shopping! It was actually a lot of fun! I bought some Danish shampoo, condition, and soap that is made without polluting the earth. Our next stop was to buy me rain clothes! I got black rain trousers and a black rain jacket so now I can bike in any season! I also bought I tshirt that says "Queen of everything"! Helle thought many of the shirts were funny and Dane's seem to like sarcastic humor so I bought it! I also bought a sweatshirt/poncho to wear when it gets cooler. Finally, we went to H&M (here, it's actually a cheap store!) I bought a cute dress on sale for only 30kr!!! (aka, $6!)
Helle and I had lunch upstairs at a more "american" type place. I had a "french" hot dog (kind of like a pretzel dog, but in a baguette!). Finally, we biked back home.
I think we were home for 15 minutes and then Christian decided we should go to IKEA!!! Which I would never pass up, of course! Helle and I shopped around while Christian played with Jacob. Christian likes to funny and tried to tell me IKEA was 2.5 hrs away.... not! I got some pictures for my room, a purple place mat for my table, and slippers! The IKEA's here are basically the same with some slight variances in types of furniture. Also, this IKEA was PACKED. We had to wait in line! I've never waited in line at an IKEA! I was amazed. At the end we all had hot dogs (american ones this time) and ice cream. It was sooo good!
I guess I blogged a little early today, but I'm pretty tiered and I want to do some homework. Yuck.
So lesson for today: Put air in your tires. Yesterday some lady apparently tried to tell me in Danish that my back tire was flat. Today, I felt so lazy because it was hard to bike. Finally we got back, I realized my tires are flat. FAIL.
